I enjoyed a cheeky spray painting session with the lovely Liskbot yesterday down in the Tamworth Tunnels. I had a lot of shades of blue to use up, so a giant blue bear seemed pretty fitting.
I finally got around to checking out my Big Sleuth bear now he's out in the wild. It was so great to see so many people interacting with him in such a short space of time.
It all started with a little shift. A very last minute decision to work late into the night to bring an idea to life. This particular idea, ironically entitled 'Shift', won me my first D&AD New Blood Pencil, and seemed to trigger a chain reaction.
I have been selected as 1 of 100 artists to produce a bear design for The Big Sleuth public art trail in Birmingham Summer 2017.
I'm probably not the best person so offer up life advice, but ah heck! Like that's gona stop me!
Last night, Dead Pixels met Digbeth Dining Club for a street food/gaming mash up - and people came down in their droves. Wezism invited myself, along with 8 other artists including: Hoasker, Mose 78, Roots and Craig Earp to do some live drawing. The theme - end of level bosses
Gosh, well since my last post I've discovered that everyone loves flamingos! It wasn't long before I was asked to paint another flamboyance for The Warehouse in Leamington Spa. Here are some pictures and a timelapse video from earlier today - all painting done with Montana 94 spraypaint.
Is it art or vandalism? Who knows, but I have fun doing it and flamingos sure are pretty!
Happy New Year! I got an awesome Japanese Album Moleskine sketchbook for Christmas and have been scribbling in it ever since. Here's a few pictures of my scribbles from the last month.
What I love most about living in Birmingham is the diverse and thriving creative hub that is Digbeth. This weekend saw the return of the City of Colours Winter Jam, a fundraising event for the main street art festival to be held in September, which celebrates all the talented artists that live in our wonderful city.
Hey there! I thought I'd share my latest adventures in the world of design, this week has been all about 3D! It's safe to say I'm officially addicted, it reminds me of playing The Sims when I was a computer nerd teenager.
I was lucky enough to bag myself some tickets to Banksy's Dismaland in Weston-Super-Mare the other day - it was fantastically dreadful. I'm feeling freshly inspired by the work I saw there. I thought I'd share a few of the photos I took now it's over and I won't spoil any surprises for anyone.
After almost 3 years, I'm leaving Imaginate to take on the Big Smoke.
